together two of these hamsters and within a year, there were over
150 hamsters!
in 1931, the Syrian hamster made it to England. The story is that
Alder sneaked the hamsters into England in his coat pockets! In time
the furry little hamsters made their way into the hearts and homes
of the people, and the rest is, as they say, history.
